EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY - SPORTS COACH REQUIRED

1-3 sessions per wk, £20-25 p/h** BANG Edutainment is a charity delivering amazing, much needed projects for young people aged 8-13 living or going to school in Brent. We’re looking for an experienced, reliable and enthusiastic Sports Coach.

  • You will have a passion for sports and community development and a desire to see young people succeed.
  • You will plan and deliver 1.5hr multi-sports sessions, with mixed ability/age groups – up to 12 participants.
  • You will supervise our Volunteer Sports Instructor.
  • You will have a minimum Level 2 multi-sports qualification.

Volunteer Journalist (1- 3 days per week, for 3 months)

Location: Harlesden, London NW10

BANG Edutainment is a charity delivering projects for young people aged 8-13 living or going to school in Brent, designed to build their motivation and skills. BANG also delivers activities designed to improve employability and life skills in partnership with sister organisation The Beat London 103.6 FM (formerly BANG Radio), a community-radio station whose distinctive content encompasses urban music and culture.

We are looking for a fast, accurate journalist who is enthusiastic about capturing a good story. You will work closely with our marketing, events, videographer and fundraising volunteers/interns to raise our profile.  Your ambitious passion for news, in all its forms and your desire to see young people succeed is needed to:

  • Ensure the voices of young people in the community are heard.
  • Support the creation of engaging content to be shared on our website, our social media and print
  • Devise press releases and research in support of our upcoming crowdfunding campaign.
  • Attend relevant events, including our own, for interviews and stories

This is an exciting opportunity for a student or graduate to gain experience in the art of news writing – a great addition to your CV and boost to your career prospects.

You will:

  • Ideally (but not essential) have a some experience gain at a newspaper, website, agency
  • Have an interest in young people, community matters, celebrities and entertainment is paramount for this position.
  • Be social media savvy! Technical skills such as video editing, Photoshop would be a PLUS.
  • Be self-motivated and able to work independently, as well as within a team
  • Demonstrate strong written, verbal communication, and presentation skills in English
  • Be highly organised and have a natural desire to keep things up-to-date.

This role is subject to an Enhanced DBS Check.

Volunteer Marketing Assistant

BANG Edutainment – London NW10

Job Summary

We are looking for a Volunteer Marketing Assistant.

Your help, enthusiasm and desire to grow your marketing experience is needed to:

  • Help plan and implement online and offline marketing campaigns that drive engagement, traffic and bookings across social media, search engine optimisation and PR
  • Monitor and manage our social media including Facebook, Twitter, Google+, YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIn
  • Source and produce engaging, relevant and interesting content
  • Produce the charity’s monthly newsletter
  • Take care of our website.

Responsibilities and Duties

You will drive and manage social media campaigns from content creation, to measurement of campaign success. We need a committed volunteer who is ready for a challenge, willing and able to support the team, particularly the events and fundraising volunteers, as we develop and grow our organisation.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Have a strong interest in marketing, both on and offline
  • Ideally have some marketing and social media experience, but not essential
  • Know how to keep a website looking good
  • Have the ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Have an interest in working with young people and local community building
  • Be self-motivated and able to work independently
  • Be a strong, passionate team player with a desire to succeed
  • Demonstrate strong written, verbal communication, and presentation skills in English
  • Be highly organised and have a natural desire to keep things up-to-date
  • Have excellent attention to detail.

We are looking for a creative and enthusiastic videographer has a passion for a good visual story and has a desire to have young people’s voices heard. Your ambition is needed to:

  • Film interviews, promotional videos and our events
  • Work closely with our marketing, events, fundraising and journalist interns/volunteers
  • Video editing – including animation, special effects
  • Digital marketing activities – creating short video clips and graphics for our social media and our website.

You will:

  • Have a degree / course or self-taught (exceptionally well) in video production, digital media.
  • Ideally, have some video production and editing experience.
  • Knowledge of Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator and Indesign – all or a few!
  • Have the ambition to grow your experience.
  • Have an interest in working with young people and local community building.
  • Have an impeccable eye for design and visualisation.
  • Be passionate about social media, marketing and video technology.
  • Be self-motivated and able to work independently, as well as within a team.
  • Demonstrate strong written, verbal communication, and presentation skills in English.
  • Be highly organised and have a natural desire to keep things up-to-date.
