THIS WEEK IS LONDON FASHION WEEK AND TO EMBRACE THAT FACT, YEMI OSUNKOYA – THE AWARD WINNING DESIGNER BEHIND THE KOSIBAH LABEL AND JENNIFER WILLIAMS-BAFFOE OF WILLBAFORCE WILL BE JOINING SHERRYL BLU ON SAT BREAKFAST.

Yemi established the Kosibah brand in London in 1991 and named the company in honour of his mother.  The name Cosiba comes from the Republic of Benin and is the day name of a female child born on a Sunday. Kosibah specialises in contemporary and elegant couture bridal, evening and formal day wear using luxurious fabrics and sumptuous embellishments. Yemi’s signature use of corsetry and boned bodices cleverly recreates the classical and elegant hourglass figure, producing gowns that curve, shape and flatter the wearer.

YOU MIGHT THINK I AM JUST ANOTHER MISERABLE PERSON CAUSE OF WHAT I’M ABOUT TO SAY…but there are other people like me out there that know Valentine’s Day is just any other day! Since last week a lot of people have been thinking of ways to get a girl or a boy just for today… a bit sad and we all know the people that do that are mostly after a little bit of…. “The TING!” And that would later involve stuff like plastics, and pill popping LOL just kidding BUT for real why else would you be so stressed about finding a boy or a girl only for that one specific day?!! (Let me know)

Then they are those who are already in relationships way before the 14^th of February but will wait till this day to show their partner how much they love them…. –_– really? I think when you’re in a relationship you shouldn’t feel that you have to wait until a specific day to show someone you love them but make everyday special SO YOU BOTH KNOW IT’S REAL! So don’t come with lines like ‘treating my boo tonight’ or ‘Unavailable today just me and my love’ – that line should be applied to your relationship everyday anyways – it should not be your man/woman and other people on other days when it’s not Valentine’s. But anyway this subject has been marked as irrelevant and pointless in mind so with all the other people that feel the same about Valentine’s Day We Really Don’t Care!

‘Losing My Faith’ is the third track to light up radio waves this year from singer / songwriter Amina Bryant.

This is the follow up to her hugely successful debut singles ‘Jimmy’ featuring hip-hop star Jim Jones.

‘Losing My Faith’ is an introduction to Amina’s darker side, it depicts the challenge of a faithless society affecting today’s youth ‘Give me a reason to pray, when I’m in such a hurry’ . The track is powered by WhiZz K!D’s thumping breakbeats, orchestral accompaniment with a 90′s inspired piano riff reflecting the hits she grew up with.

“I grew up in Brixton, it’s a melting pot of cultures so you draw influences from everywhere, my brothers were listening to jungle, hip hop and bashment, my parents were listening to reggae and 
soul, while my sister was listening to RnB, so I took all those influences in.”

Fully hands-on with the technical and creative process of her music, Amina takes on the role of executive producer, alongside her long-time friend and producer, WhiZz K!D. A skilled songwriter, she is strongly influenced by great Motown hit-makers including Holland Dozier Holland, Stevie Wonder, Burt Bacharach and modern writers like R Kelly, and Esther Dean.

After making a name for herself this year in the underground scene, after playing a string of playing intimate acoustic sets to her growing fanbase, Amina is excited to share another side to her eclectic sound.
